Ava and Delilah- The Beginning

On October 26, 2010- Ava Gabriella Marconi (PM Josefina) and Delilah December Moore (PM JLY#7) became my daughters. An impulse buy off eBay, and $73.50 later, they were mine. Two gorgeous special needs girls, once loved and recently forgotten, mauled by dogs (and for Delilah, a pair of scissors as well), and sold by their used-to-be mother in their 14th and 13th year of existence.

These girls will never know abandonment ever again, once they arrive.

Meet Ava.

Ava Gabriella Marconi was created in 1997. She is 13 years old and took the worst of the dog attacks.

Her right hand is completely severed, and the left is cut about halfway up. She has a chip taken out of her foot and her hair is dry.

Meet Delilah.

Delilah December Moore was created in 1996. She is 14 years old, and her injuries consist of chewed-up arms and hands, severe loss of facial coloring, a rip in her abdomen, hip dysplasia and let's just say she had a little haircut.

If you combine those needs, they're pretty severe and probably expensive to fix. 

But anything can go a long way with a little love, right?

I'm so glad to be bringing these beauties home, and I look forward to sharing the journey with you.
